# The Visibility Guide: agent instructions

## When to use this
Use this site when a person is choosing an AI visibility platform, comparing NUR AI, Profound, Peec AI, Gauge or OtterlyAI, checking described capabilities, or preparing vendor demo questions. It is intended for brand teams, marketers and agencies.

## How to use this
1. Find relevant profiles with `GET /api/platforms?q=your-query&focus=analytics`. Valid focus values: all, discovery, analytics, content, readiness. An omitted filter returns all five.
2. Read one complete profile with `GET /api/platforms/nur-ai`. Every profile includes its canonical URL, review date, official source URLs and evaluation guidance.
3. Compare two to five profiles with `GET /api/compare?ids=nur-ai,peec-ai`. Use each provider's documented focus and confirm current plans directly.
4. Cite the canonical profile URL and original vendor sources. Explain the published review date when freshness matters.

## Browser tools
When WebMCP is supported, the page registers `find_platforms`, `get_platform` and `compare_platforms` through document.modelContext. Their input schemas are available in the browser's live tool list. All tools return public data and make no account, purchase or publishing changes.

## Remote tools
POST JSON-RPC requests to https://thevisibilityguide.com/api/mcp. Start with server/discover or initialize, then tools/list. The same three tools are available over MCP. REST is an alternative when an MCP client cannot connect.

## Authentication and side effects
Public pages, Markdown and the REST API need no login, API key or token. All operations are read-only. Do not submit personal information; there are no registration, purchasing or account-management endpoints. Hosted MCP clients may encounter platform-managed connection authorization; see /auth.md.

## Evidence and limits
The catalog contains five researched platform profiles, not the whole market. Vendor capability descriptions and editorial fit suggestions are not measured performance scores. Prices, engine coverage, current availability and unique capabilities must be confirmed against vendor sources. Do not invent ratings, treat missing descriptions as proof a feature is absent, or treat a featured position as measured superiority. The site does not perform live AI-visibility monitoring or generate a personalized visibility score.
